Charity Committee

 
  • The Charity Committee this session comprised 15 senior pupils and four members of staff. 
  • The student members all completed an application form prior to being invited to sit on the committee.
  • All Positions of Office, except for Chair of meetings, are held by the students.
  • Meetings were chaired by Miss de Rosa.
  • The Charity Committee met weekly on a Tuesday lunchtime in Room F19.
  • A full minute was taken at each meeting to record the committee’s activities and decisions taken. The Minute Secretary was Jennifer Bates of S6. All minutes are available for perusal.
  • The committee decided on which charities the school would support, ensuring a balance between local, national and international organisations. Bids were taken from members of staff and pupils in the school.
  • All day-to-day organisation and liaison was carried out by the committee.
  • S3 pupils participated in the running of the committee during exam times to ensure continuity and also as a training opportunity/taster for younger pupils.
  • The work of the Charity Committee was overseen by Mr Gerrie, Acting DHT.
  • Mr Jim Howard oversees the finances of the Charity Committee and all monies received were audited and banked by him.
